Artist Biography

Yordan Nikolov is a multidisciplinary artist working across Bath, London and Sofia. His interest lies in conveying socio-political phenomena visually. A graduate of the BRIT School and Art History Link-Up, Yordan has extensively studied Art History and contemporary digital design practices, as well as having written on the intersection between art and politics. This interest is reflected in his Bath University Left Union (BULU) tenure as Campaigns & Social Media Officer, which saw the threefold increase in popularity of the Union through a well-designed branding strategy. A Christie’s Scholarship winner with his short film about Fascist Italian and German influences on Bulgarian interwar architecture, Yordan has recently completed a 20th Century Design course with Christie’s Education. With over three years of professional experience in the creative sector, chiefly through his work in a mid-century and contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, the artist has engaged deeply with the contemporary art industry and all its aspects, from publicity to transport logistics, which enabled him to curate his first exhibition of BULU artwork in October 2021.
